MITZVAH WIZARDS CLASS
AGES 12 - 13
The Mitzvah Wizards class boasts the lowest teacher-student ratio in religious schools in the region (4:1). However, more than sheer numbers the quality of Jewish education is outstanding. Our B Mitzvah students gain the skills necessary to conduct a Shabbat worship service, confidently chant from the Torah, as well as compose an original sermon on the portion of the week. Through the creation of a memory book, students become intimately familiar with the meaning of every prayer, finding its relevance in their lives today. Students typically learn in small groups that foster an openness in conversation, resulting in special relationships between classmates. Each year students and teachers join together for a special weekend at the Wainright House in Rye - an idyllic retreat that serves as a perfect opportunity for community building as they embark on their spiritual journey.
